Sports

We regard participation in sport as highly valuable. It not only promotes physical development and well-being, but also helps each students integration, develops in him qualities of endurance, reliability, co-operation and leadership and educates him for leisure and life.

The College provides a wide range of facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. The outdoor facilities include rugby pitches and athletics facilities.

Rugby is the major outdoor team game. The College fields enough rugby teams to afford every boy an opportunity to play. The Leinster Senior and Junior School Cup competitions are the highlight of the rugby year.

Cross Country training continues throughout the school year and students have competed in local, national and international competitions.

The College athletics team enters the Leinster competitions and meetings with other schools are organised. Apart from track events, there are facilities for long and triple jump, pole vault, hammer, discus, javelin and shot. Other sports available are tennis, swimming, golf, basketball, badminton, fitness training and indoor rowing. Weight training is available in the weights room.

Rugby

Rugby is the main sport in CBC. With teams from First to Sixth year it has a lot of dedicated players and coaches. With multiple teams for each year everybody can find their own skill level and play with people of their level and age.

Athletics

We run a comprehensive athletics programme headed up by Mr. Finnegan, Ms. O’Toole and team of specialist coaches. Our pupils continue to be successful in Leinster and All Ireland competitions.
