It is my honour to welcome you to Christian Brothers College (CBC), Monkstown Park.

CBC has a proud history, founded in 1856 by the Christian Brothers. Originally based on Eblana Avenue in Dún Laoghaire, the school relocated to its current site in 1950, and Monkstown Park has been home ever since. This year, 2025, marks the Diamond Jubilee of CBC on this site, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone throughout the year.

The College is a member of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust, established in 2008 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers. We are guided by the Trust’s Charter, which outlines the pathway for the personal and social development of our students within a caring, Christian community of learning and teaching.

CBC is a vibrant school that continually strives for high standards in all areas. While we aim for academic excellence, we also offer a varied extra-curricular programme that encourages our students to express themselves both academically and individually. Every student at CBC is encouraged to pursue excellence, not just in the classroom, but in all aspects of life.

Our professional and caring teaching and support staff are committed to excellence both inside and outside the classroom. The sense of community and connection among staff, students, and parents is one of CBC’s defining characteristics. This fosters a positive school environment where learning is valued by all.

We are currently in an exciting phase of the College’s Capital Development Plan: in 2023, the Board of Management invested €400,000 in replacing one of the old roofs in the College. The Board is now in the process of overseeing a €3 million investment in new Astro and grass pitches, floodlights, warm-up areas, a sprint track, pavilion area and hard courts for tennis and basketball. The final stage of the development plan will be the construction of a new Sports Hall, which is currently in the planning and development stages.
